Dominik Matoulek
I am a senior software engineer specializing in Ruby on Rails, backend architecture, and distributed systems. With years of experience in web development, database optimization, and API design, I focus on building scalable and maintainable applications.
Beyond traditional web development, I have a strong interest in IoT and edge computing, where I experiment with real-time communication protocols (CoAP, MQTT) and low-power IoT infrastructure.
Currently, I am developing Takagi, an open-source CoAP framework for Ruby, designed to extend Ruby's capabilities into the IoT world. While Rails remains my core expertise, I occasionally dive into ZephyrOS, AI-driven automation, and real-time industrial IoT applications to explore new technological possibilities.

CoAP is a lightweight protocol for constrained IoT environments, but Ruby developers have been left without a solid framework—until now. Takagi is a Sinatra-inspired CoAP server & client, designed to bring real-time IoT communication to the Ruby ecosystem.
